It is hoped that James’ play will be performed at the national heritage centre before the end of 2017.

Fascinating Talk given by creators of ‘Rupert The Dinosaur’ on 7th October

Another good turnout of members received a fascinating insight into the creation of a children’s book by author Doug Vallgren and illustrator Karl Newson.  We heard how the original idea was formed from the author creating a story for his young daughter, and how this evolved into the first book many years later.  The various stages leading up to publication were described in detail, including putting together the book, including the work with Karl the illustrator.  Doug also described how printing was arranged and finally the sales and marketing side of the project.  A considerable amount of the original artwork was on show and the audience participated in a useful discussion following the talk.

Our thanks to Doug and Karl for a thoroughly enjoyable and informative evening.
