There are a couple more changes to the published programme.WordPress Writing Brown Pen

17th March will now see scriptwriter Nick Hopkins’ adjudication of Competition 2 with . The meeting on the 7th April will be the adjudication of Competition 3 with Martin Bowman. We will then be back on track, 21st April, which is the launch of our new Open Competition with writer, poet and academic Jean McNeil.

We appologise to members, especially those who have entered the affected in-house competitions and look forward to being entertained with readings from as many stories as possible. Thank you for your patience.

At Home with the Holmes

17th February: We welcome Frances & Michael Holmes, historians of Norwich. Well-known in the city with many successful local heritage titles, and are amongst the most nominated authors forNorwich Boot & Shoe the East Anglia Book Awards, being winners most recently in 2014. They are professional and frequent speakers so we have a fascinating evening in prospect. They are not setting a competition, just a one off talk, so this is a perfect opportunity to discover how they go about their research into their topics, e.g. Norwich Pubs and Shoemakers.

In a change to our advertised programme, February 3rd‘s meeting will now be a Manuscript Evening. We apologize to members who were hoping to find out if they’d won the Colin Sutton Cup WordPress Letter Writing Penand appreciate the short notice of this change. The Colin Sutton Competition will now be adjudicated at a later date (to be confirmed).

If you’ve a work in progress, a previous competition entry you’ve not had chance to read out, or in deed, an old favourite piece of writing you’d like to share with other members, please bring it along Tuesday evening. Honest exchanges and useful appraisals are always welcome.
