EAST ANGLIA BOOK AWARDS 2014

eaba-landing-pageNorwich Writers’ Circle would like to congratulate three of our speakers from our 2014-15 Programme who have enjoyed success at the East Anglian Book Awards 2014. The ceremony was held at Jarrold store on Thursday 20th November when over 120 people heard the announcement of the category winners.

Against strong opposition, Aviation Historian Martin Bowman of Norwich won the category ‘History and Tradition’ with his book We Were Eagles (Volume 1: July 42 – Nov 43). Martin will be speaking to the Circle about his prolific writing career on 20th January 2015 when he will launch Members’ Competition 3. There will be copies of his winning book and other titles available for sale.

In the ‘Children’s Book’ category, Douglas Vallgren and illustrator Karl Newson were shortlisted for Rupert the Dinosaur. Doug and Karl gave us a fascinating and entertaining talk on how this book evolved at our Circle meeting on 7th October. Doug and Karl will be returning on 2nd December to announce the winners’ of our first competition this season.
