20th May 2014

WordPress Andrew Cowan Portrait

Due to illness our original speaker, Nikki Hodgkinson, will not be attending our 20th May meeting. We will be instead be welcoming Andrew Cowan to Norwich Writers’ Circle.

Andrew is the Director of the Creative Writing Programme at the UEA. In addition to his role at the University Of East Anglia, our latest visiting writer’s novel, Worthless Man, was shortlisted for the EDP East Anglian Book Awards 2013/14.

Our new guest speaker will be holding a workshop on characterisation and structure. During the evening Andrew will be using exercises from his acclaimed book The Art Of Writing Fiction. This book will also be available to purchase during the meeting.

Members and visitors are encouraged to attend what should be an interesting and insightful evening on the art of writing from a much-respected local academic.

We are also happy to announce that recent technical issues with Twitter have now been resolved. Our popular news feed at twitter.com/norwichwriters shall continue to be updated on a regular basis.

NWC next meets at The Assembly House on 15th April, when we holding one of our ever-popular Manuscript Evenings. Please feel free to bring along a sample of your work to read aloud, and to hear constructive criticism, from our friendly Circle.

We look forward to seeing you then.
