Science Fiction Writing Workshop

On 2nd April Norwich Writers’ Circle’s Publicity Officer Victoria Bartlett hosted a Science Fiction writing workshop.

Following an introduction to the concept of Science Fiction, Victoria then proceeded to give us a series of lengthy descriptions on how other authors viewed potential alien worlds.

We then asked to write a description of our own SF world in a very limited amount of time. Once a couple of these descriptions were read aloud, this then led onto a general discussion on the topic of the Science Fiction genre as a whole.

The evening then concluded with a brief look at character and the fundamentals of storytelling.

Please visit Victoria’s Blog to read some additional workshop notes.

NWC next meet on 16th April when we will be welcoming George Szirtes to The Assembly House, who will announce the winners of our annual Open Poetry Competition. We hope to see you there.
