Writing The Visual

On 2nd October Norwich Writers’ Circle welcomed Amanda Addison to The Assembly House. In a well-attended meeting the local author gave us a talk/workshop called Writing The Visual.

Amanda discussed creating an original short story insprired by a works of art, craft and design. During the evening the interesting writer discussed her own career to date, and how she got into writing through her graphic design work at Art School.

Members and group visitors were given the opportunity to ask questions, many of which were encouraged by a series of writing exercises given to us by Amanda. The imaginative exercises set were designed to help fuel our imaginations for Competition One, which Amanda will be adjudicating later on in the year.

At the end of the meeting members and visitors were reminded that another Greenhouse get-together will be taking place this Saturday – the 6th – from 2.00pm onwards in the cafe.

Norwich Writers’ Circle next meet on the 16th October when chairman Adrian Dearnley shall be holding an in-house workshop and manuscript evening.
